Da Brat, Missy Elliott, and Lil' Kim

It was ladies’ night at the Soul Train Awards 2014. Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott, and Da Brat hit the stage for the first time in 17 years to perform their 1996 platinum single “Not Tonight (Remix)” during Sunday’s pre-taped show.

Eric Benét kicked things off by singing the original song before Kim emerged with her female dancers. They paid tribute to the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes before Da Brat bumrushed the stage followed by Missy, who was greeted with roaring cheers from the crowd.

During the finale, they were joined on stage by their fellow females including Total, MC Lyte, The Lady of Rage, and Yo-Yo. Angie Martinez, who was featured on the song, was M.I.A.

The performance was part of a tribute to Kool & the Gang, whose 1979 song “Ladies’ Night” they sampled.

“I want to thank @LilKim @ONLY1BRAT @mclyte @THEOFFICIALRAGE YOYO TOTAL! I GOT ALL MY SISTAS WiTME! #RIP LeftEye we miss u!” tweeted Missy.
