Bobby Shmurda Trial Delayed for Fourth Time
Bobby Shmurda’s long-awaited trial date has been pushed back yet again.
On Monday (May 9), the Brooklyn rapper’s trial on a series of charges was moved to Sept. 12, according to Billboard. It’s the fourth time his trial has been postponed after initially being scheduled for Feb. 22.
Shmurda was arrested in Dec. 2014 after an investigation from the NYPD. He now faces conspiracy, gun, and drug charges and has been denied bail at least seven times.
Earlier this month, it was reported that Shmurda planned to sue the NYPD over an alleged false arrest, claiming that it also caused him permanent “nervous shock and mental anguish.”
The “Hot Boy” is reportedly working on two films while incarcerated.
In February, Bobby opened up about his experience with the law, saying his arrest was an example of greater injustice in America.
“They told me when they locked me up, they don’t want to see a next 50 Cent,” he said. “They don’t want to see a next Diddy. They don’t want to see a next Jay Z coming out of New York. This shit is crazy. This shit is past rap, this is injustice, Black Lives Matter. It’s past everything. This shit is crazy.”
