Meek Mill's House Arrest Extended

  /  06.02.2016

Meek Mill could have been a free man on Wednesday (June 1), but instead, his house arrest will be extended for an additional eight days.

Sources tell TMZ that the extension was ordered because Meek didn’t follow the judge’s instructions regarding community service.

Meek was originally ordered to work 90 days of community service with the homeless, Habitat for Humanity, senior citizens, or veterans. Instead, the rapper visited schools, helped with Flint’s water crisis, and delivered motivational speeches. While he did clock in some hours at a homeless shelter, it wasn’t enough to appease the judge’s orders.

Meek’s camp claims the judge never made these specifications, however the report reveals that legal documents show the instructions “in black and white.”

The Philadelphia D.A.’s office is set to reevaluate Meek’s case once his volunteer work is done.

Meek is on house arrest for violating probation following a 2009 drug and gun conviction.
