Fergie Leaves Interscope, Launches Dutchess Music Label

  /  05.25.2017

Fergie is moving on.

The Black Eyed Peas songstress, who was signed to Interscope Records through will.i.am Music Group, has parted ways with her longtime label.

“The decision was made to part ways,” an insider told Variety. “We were all in concert and want what’s best for Fergie.”

Moving forward, Fergie has launched her own label, Dutchess Music, through a new global partnership with BMG. Her first album in 11 years, Double Dutchess, is due later this summer.

“This new era, which includes starting my own label and creating a global partnership with BMG, is a dream come true,” said Fergie. “It’s an opportunity to release my solo music as well as develop and nurture new artists. This next chapter in my career will allow me the independence to evolve both as an artist and as a businesswoman.

“BMG has such an incredible legacy in the music industry, and I look forward to working with their very experienced team to make new music, memories and magic!”

Fergie failed to reach the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest three singlesβ€”“L.A. Love (la la),” which peaked at No. 27; “M.I.L.F.$,” which peaked at No. 34; and “Life Goes On,” which didn’t chart at all.

However, Fergie’s solo career has been a successful one filled with many triumphs, including three No. 1 singles: “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” “Glamorous,” and “London Bridge” off her 5x platinum debut The Dutchess, which spent 94 weeks on the Billboard 200.
