Stream Big Boi's New Album 'Boomiverse'

Big Boi blasts off into the Boomiverse with the release of his star-studded third solo album, out now via Epic.

The long-awaited album’s versatility has already been on display by way of its singles. Through these tracks, he’s explored hardcore hip-hop (“Kill Jill” featuring Jeezy and Killer Mike), pop fun (“Mic Jack” with Adam Levine), house vibes (“Chocolate” with Trozé), and Down South flavor (“In the South” featuring Gucci Mane and Pimp C).

But the rest of Boomiverse continues this exploration of genre-defying spaces, including collaborations with Snoop Dogg (“Get Wit It”), Sleepy Brown (“Freakanomics”), and Eric Bellinger (“Overthunk”), among many others.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald, one half of OutKast explained his array of influences. “I’m an extraterrestrial rock star – I’m a rock and roller,” he explained. “I bounce around from jazz to blues to gospel. Hip-hop is just one facet of what I do. It’s the core, but I’m a product of all music.”

That’s reflected on Boomiverse, he added. “The grooves, the instrumentation, the lyrics, the cadences are all brand new,” said General Patton. “No two songs sound alike. But it [the album] plays together as one body of work. It takes listeners on a journey. It’s the evolution of Big Boi.”
