Maroon 5 Taps SZA for 'What Lovers Do'
Maroon 5 and TDE unite once again. On the heels of their Kendrick Lamar collaboration “Don’t Wanna Know,” the band teams up with another Top Dawg Entertainment star, SZA.
Maroon 5 announced the news by revealing the song’s provocative title (“What Lovers Do”) and its cover art, which features a woman sucking on a lollipop. The song is set to premiere Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Fans can preview the track through an interactive website, which asks listeners to fill in a blank that completes a sentence regarding what lovers do. The single finds Adam Levine singing about love and luck.
“Tell me if you love me or not,” he sings on the track. “I’ll bet the house on you, am I lucky or not?”
Taking to Twitter, Levine posted a selfie video, in which he is bandaged up with a broken leg in a cast. Meanwhile, SZA is dressed up as a seductive nurse. “She’s an evil nurse/love of my life in the video,” he says. “It’s tragic, man.”

In addition to Kendrick, Maroon 5 also teamed up with Future on “Cold” and Gucci Mane for the remix. Meanwhile, SZA is currently on her “Ctrl Tour,” which is set to continue through December.
