New Music: Wu-Tang Clan feat. Inspectah Deck & Redman - 'Lesson Learn'd'

  /  09.22.2017

Shortly after announcing Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues, longtime Wu-Tang Clan DJ Mathematics teams up with Redman and Inspectah Deck on “Lesson Learn’d.”

Over thumping drums, The Rebel I-N-S references Martin Shkreli, the controversial pharmaceutical mogul who purchased a one-of-a-kind copy of Wu’s Once Upon a Time in Shaolin album for $2 million back in 2015.

“My price hiking like the pills Martin Shkreli sells,” he raps. “Mathematics’ tracks, I craft havoc / Fact, I black on it, black / I’m back at it.”

Redman, who also handles the chorus, delivers the song’s second verse with intricate rhyme patterns and clever wordplay. “Trying to be nice at 40,” he raps. “You can have it all, shorty / I’m trying to make history / And his story says ‘Fuck rap, I divorced her, the bitch bore me.'”

Prior to dropping “Lesson Learn’d,” Method Man, Raekwon, Deck, Masta Killa, and Redman joined forces on “People Say.” Both singles are expected to appear on Wu-Tang: The Saga Continues. Executive produced by RZA with creative production from DJ Mathematics, the project is due Oct. 13.
