New Music: Dreezy feat. 6LACK & Kodak Black - 'Spar'

  /  10.16.2017

Dreezy takes on the system. The Chicago rapper enlists Kodak Black and 6LACK for her politically-charged single “Spar,” which addresses police brutality, hurricanes, and President Donald Trump.

6LACK kicks things off with a verse that sums up his thoughts on politics. “My life is hard enough,” he raps. “They not rewarding us / They disregarding us / If I go to D.C., I’m trying to spar with Trump / I’m not a politician, just can’t ignore the stuff.”

Dreezy, who repeats those lines after her verse, also takes on the political mechanisms of the country. “This can’t be land of the free if kneeling might cost your position,” she raps. “I’m supposed to respect the system / That call our brothers sons of bitches / When my unc came from prison / For the same shit y’all tried to turn into a business.”

While Dreezy and 6LACK try to “Spar” with Trump, Project Baby has different thoughts. “When I’m in Washington, D.C., I’m doing fraud and stuff,” he raps. “I ain’t worried about Donald Trump / I ain’t worried about seeing no monuments / These people got weather control, where the hell you think Hurricane Harvey from? / The wind ain’t got no name, where the hell you think Hurricane Harvey from?”

It’s unclear where “Spar” will end up, but it could very well appear on Dreezy’s follow-up to last year’s No Hard Feelings.
