Safaree May Know One of His Alleged Armed Robbers

Safaree Samuels may know at least one of his alleged armed robbers, according to a new report.

Shawn Harewood, one of the men arrested in connection with the robbery, once took a photo with Safaree and his then-girlfriend, Nicki Minaj, TMZ reports. They reportedly took the photo at a Queens nightclub for Safaree’s birthday in 2011 or 2012.

Sources say that Safaree and Harewood are longtime friends who’ve known one another since SB was 14. However, insiders say they haven’t spoken since Safaree and Nicki’s breakup.

Police arrested Harewood and another man, Jonathan Ricketts, for the alleged armed robbery following a pursuit over the George Washington Bridge from New Jersey to New York. It’s unclear whether there is any connection between Safaree and Ricketts at press time.

Safaree claims that he was robbed at gunpoint on Monday morning. He said the perpetrators stole $183,000 in cash and jewelry. During an emotional interview with Angie Martinez, he said he didn’t know who robbed him. Later, however, he added: “I definitely feel like it’s someone I know who has something to do with it.”
