Watch J. Cole's Emotional Tribute to Mac Miller
Mac Miller’s death continues to impact his peers. Following Drake and G-Eazy, J. Cole delivered an emotional tribute to the late MC, who died Friday at the age of 26.
During a recent stop on his “KOD Tour” in Las Vegas, Cole delivered a PSA on mental health.
“People die, today, yesterday, and tomorrow, they die, and they never got a chance to deal with their shit,” he told the crowd at T-Mobile Arena. “They never even knew they were supposed to. I’m not trying to wait till I die to deal with my shit. I’m trying to deal with my shit right fuckin’ now.”

With tears in his eyes, he went to to perform his favorite song ever, “Love Yourz,” and dedicated it to Miller. “I need y’all to put your cell phones in the sky right now for my ni**a Mac Miller,” he said. “We gon’ do this whole song for him, this whole show is for him.”
Following Miller’s tragic death, Cole offered his support to others who are struggling with substance abuse. “This is a message for anybody in this game that’s going through something,” he tweeted. “If you don’t feel right, if you feel you have a substance problem, if you need a ear to vent to. If you uncomfortable talking to people around you. Please reach out to me.”

On Saturday night (Sept. 8), Donald Glover also took a moment to pay tribute to Mac Miller during his “This Is America” tour stop at Chicago’s United Center.
“I’m a very sensitive person, but this Mac Miller shit got me f**ked up,” he told the crowd. “He was so nice. He was the sweetest guy; he was so nice. And we were both internet music kids, and a lot of critics were like ‘Yo, this corny-ass white dude, this corny-ass black dude,’ and we used to talk. And this kid, he just loved music.
“My heart was broken, and I feel good about being sad, because it tells me that he was special, that I had a special moment. Everybody deserves that.”
He dedicated his performance of “Riot” to Miller. “I just wanna say, ‘I love you, Mac’ and I just want to tell you that I love you and this song is for him because I feel like sometimes he wanted to let go.”
The tributes came from far and wide. During opening night of his farewell tour in Allentown, Pa., Elton John dedicated his performance of “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me” to Miller.
“I would like to dedicate this song to Mac Miller, who unbelievably, at 26 years of age, passed away yesterday,” said the music legend. “It’s inconceivable that someone as young and had so much talent could do that, and I just would like to pass all of that love and best wishes to his loved ones, his family, his friends. Mac, wherever you are, I hope you’re happy now.”
