Video: Nas - 'Cops Shot the Kid'
Over six months after the release of his 11th studio album Nasir, Nas debuts the chilling video for the standout track “Cops Shot the Kid.”
In the opening scene, Nas is seen walking on the beach while gunshots ring out. The rap icon raises his hands in the air as he stands in front of his Lamborghini. One young man is arrested and violently thrown on the hood of a cop car, while another is chased by the police before being fatally shot.
The song’s producer, Kanye West, does not make a cameo, but Slick Rick does. Nas sampled the hip-hop legend’s “Children’s Story” for the Nasir cut.
Nas has a big year ahead. In addition to working on a new album, he will headline the 2019 Governors Ball Music Festival on June 2 at Randall’s Island Park in New York.
