XXXTentacion's Son Gekyume Onfroy Is Born

Seven months after XXXTentacion’s death, the late rapper’s girlfriend has given birth to their son.

Taking to social media, X’s mother, Cleopatra Bernard, announced the arrival of her son’s first child. His girlfriend, Jenesis Sanchez, who was pregnant at the time of X’s death in June, gave birth to a baby boy named Gekyume Onfroy on Saturday (Jan. 26).

“We’re happy to confirm that baby and mother are healthy,” said a rep for X, while Bernard shared the baby news on Instagram Stories. “Yume has officially arrived,” she wrote.

Gekyume’s name comes from a word X created prior to his passing, which means “a different state” or “next” universe of thought. “XXXTentacion specifically chose this name for his first born son,” adds the rep. “His family is honored to fulfill his wish and shower baby Gekyume with love.”

X, born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, was shot and killed as he was leaving a motorsports dealership in Deerfield Beach, Fla. on June 18.

A few days later, his mother announced that her late son was expecting a baby with his girlfriend, which he reportedly knew about prior to his death. At the time, Bernard shared an ultrasound photo of her grandchild. “He left us a final gift,” she wrote.
