Pusha-T Drops 'Coming Home' Featuring Ms. Lauryn Hill

Less than 48 hours after dropping the Kash Doll-assisted “Sociopath,” Pusha-T teams up with Ms. Lauryn Hill on “Coming Home.”

Over the Kanye West and Mike Dean production, King Push slings some heavy bars. “All these lies they steady telling me / Before Obama, we had Eric B. / Or Tony Lewis out in D.C. / The ’80s kingpins, gotta free them,” he raps. “This the dope boys song for the dope boys gone / Let ’em know it’s still snowin’.”

Ms. Hill blesses the track with some uplifting words: “When love is real, you can do anything.”

During an interview with Ebro on Beats 1, the G.O.O.D. Music president opened up about the powerful song, which is about mass incarceration. “It speaks to just giving hope to those who are coming home and telling people who are locked up and behind the wall that we waiting on them, and we going to be out here as a support system when they get home,” he explained.

The collaboration with the Fugees icon was a dream come true for Push. “I just made the request. She expressed that she likes my music, and she’d see about it,” he said. “It was just super important to me to definitely have her on it. Lauryn, her discography, it means everything.”

On Monday, Pusha debuted the Kanye-produced “Sociopath” featuring Kash Doll. He has been in the studio with Kanye and has nine songs done for his new album, due later this year. “That’s what I’m in here now cooking up, right now,” he told Ebro. “I feel like I’m well on my way. I got some really, really hot.”
