Kendrick Lamar Announces New Album 'Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers'

  /  04.18.2022

The wait is over.

After much anticipation, Kendrick Lamar has announced that his fifth studio album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers will arrive on May 13. On Monday at 11 a.m. PST, he shared the news in a letter written on pgLang stationery.

He linked to oklama.com after responding to a tweet saying, “Kendrick Lamar is officially retired.”

The note “from the desk of oklama” revealed the album title, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, and release date, May 13.

It’s been five years since Kendrick released his last album DAMN. He acknowledged the wait, writing, “Appreciate your patience.”

Back in August, he revealed that this would be his final album for TDE.

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” he wrote. “The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling. There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.”
