Nas Celebrates 40th Birthday with Mariah Carey, Daughter Destiny

Nas kicked off his 40th birthday celebration with some of his closest friends and family in New York City. The hip-hop icon was dapper in a pink tux as he arrived at the black-tie affair, which was held at Avenue on Thursday night. His daughter Destiny and father Olu Dara were among those who joined him at the dinner table.

Mariah Carey, who collaborated with Nas on the remix to “Thank God I Found You,” rocked a sparkly sling over her injured arm as she toasted the birthday boy, while other guests included Pusha T, Melanie Fiona, Jermaine Dupri, Tyson Beckford, and Maino.

“#LifeIsGood right about now. Celebrating my 40th all night with my people,” tweeted Nas, who turns 40 on Saturday.

Guests sipped Hennessy and dined on lobster and strawberry shortcake, while DJ M.O.S. worked the turntables. The Queens MC received some fancy gifts including a Hublot watch and bottle of Hennessy Paradis Imperial.
