Nas

Twenty years after the release of his groundbreaking debut Illmatic, Nas takes a walk down memory lane in his documentary Nas: Time Is Illmatic.

The hip-hop icon returns to his childhood home in Queensbridge and shares stories of his rise to stardom and the obstacles he faced before his major label signing at age 20.

The 74-minute film features interviews with his Illmatic producers including Large Professor, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, and DJ Premier, as well as his musical peers Pharrell Williams, Alicia Keys, and Busta Rhymes.

Nas: Time Is Illmatic opens at the Tribeca Film Festival and select theaters on October 1 and will be available on demand and iTunes beginning October 3.

On October 2, Nas will embark on a 14-city fall tour. Before each show, he will screen the film and perform Illmatic from start to finish.
