The Weeknd made his BET Awards debut on Sunday. The XO crooner brought “The Hills” to life with his new single. As the lights alternated from red to indigo, The Weeknd sang notes from the heart before Alicia Keys emerged on stage. The R&B goddess delivered a strong cover of Abel’s 50 Shades of Grey homerun “Earned It.” As Mrs. Dean belted the sexy lyrics, The Weeknd returned with ad libs before it became a full-blown duet—with Alicia on the keys and Abel center stage. The grunts, the coos, the sways, the applause from Rihanna. It was all “worth it.”
