Maxwell Performs 'Lake by the Ocean' on 'Kimmel'

Maxwell makes a splash on “Kimmel.”

Celebrating the release of his first album in seven years, blackSUMMERS’night, the 43-year-old singer performed the LP’s lead single for an outdoor crowd on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night.

Rocking a dapper outfit and mirrored shades, Maxwell kept his cool in the warm L.A. sun while dancing, singing, and gliding across the stage.

It’s a bit of a preview for fans headed to ESSENCE Festival this weekend. That’s where Maxwell will join Kendrick Lamar, Mariah Carey, New Edition, Babyface, Tyrese, Common, and Puff Daddy & the Family on the Main Stage.
