Dreezy Reacts to BET Awards Snub

  /  05.16.2017

Dreezy is riding for herself after being snubbed at the BET Awards.

Shortly after the Best Female Hip-Hop Artist nominees were announced on Monday (May 15), a fan tweeted that she was “surprised” that the Chicago MC wasn’t included.

“I’m not lol,” replied Dreezy. “It ain’t bout the music nomore.”

The “Close to You” rapper laid out her case for the crown. “Only female to drop a album last year, went platnium, vids all hit millions, 3 tours w/all ni**as,” she wrote. “No credit. Ima charge it to the game tho.”

Later, as arguments about the snub continued, Dreezy clarified that she didn’t mean to slight those who were nominated, including Cardi B, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma, and Young M.A.

“Dont take my passion 4 this as discredit to other females,” she wrote. “Salute to all the dope ladies. Some ppl wouldn’t even care. I’ll be back & better.”

Last year, Dreezy dropped her debut album No Hard Feelings, which spawned a series of hits, including “Wasted,” “We Gon Ride” featuring Gucci Mane, and the platinum-selling “Body” with Jeremih.
