DMX Is Making 'Great Progress' in Rehab

  /  08.30.2017

DMX has entered a rehabilitation program, living up to the conditions of his recent deal to get off house arrest.

As part of his community outreach, the rapper recently visited a firehouse. “House arrest wasn’t working for me, so I made the decision to do something positive and better for myself,” DMX told TMZ.

During his time in treatment, X will continue working on new music. “My pen is still to the paper,” added the Ruff Ryder. “I’m in Beast Mode.”

X’s manager Pat Gallo says that his client has made “great progress” while working with recovery coach Joseph Griffin.

Last week, DMX was taken off house arrest on the condition that he enter a drug treatment program. Per the deal, X is allowed to leave his house without wearing an ankle monitor. Although he has less restrictions, he is still unable to travel outside of New York state without permission.

X is currently being investigated for tax fraud after allegedly “engaging in a multi-year scheme to conceal” $1.7 million in taxes from the Internal Revenue Service. If he is found guilty on all charges, he could face more than 40 years behind bars.
