New Music: Big K.R.I.T. - 'Confetti'

  /  09.29.2017

Big K.R.I.T. lets the “Confetti” fall with his first track of 2017 and his first solo release since last year’s triumphant “Free Agent.”

Over electric guitars and booming percussion, Young Krizzle raps about the state of hip-hop, balling all summer, flexing on Christmas, and having a crib on Mt. Olympus.

“Got the win, I want the record, ni**a,” he raps. “What’s a crown if you don’t protect it, ni**a? / What’s a name, if they don’t respect it, ni**a?”

Along with “Confetti,” K.R.I.T. unleashes a new trailer, in which he shoots down and buries himself, as a symbolic gesture. The brooding Motion Family-directed visual is accompanied by another new track, in which he reflects on the future.

“Hard times will come again,” he raps. “I set aside a book of rhymes that will pave the way for now and then / I know forever is a mighty long time, so where should we begin?”
