Post Malone Talks Lil B, Race, & Kanye West Collaborations

After Lil B blasted Post Malone for “slowly turning into a white dude” who will go on to “hate blacks,” Post Malone is speaking out about The Based God’s controversial comments.

“I don’t know what happened because Lil B has always had nothing but nice things to say,” the “rockstar” told 98.5 The Beat’s “The Dana Cortez Show.” “It’s a mystery whether if he’s hacked or if he’s not but Lil B is such a positive dude. I don’t think he would really talk smack. It was very out of character.”

Malone went on to reveal that race has played a role in his career when asked if being white has ever held him back. “A lot,” he said. “Especially coming into the game and especially being so young and not really having an identity. Being a young kid, there’s so much going on around you and it’s so easy to be someone else and you want to be something that you’re not.

“Coming into my own and figuring out who I am and what kind of music I want to make, how I want to shift the culture and shift the genre,” he added. “With this last album, I’ve shut a lot of people up who just wanted to call me a cultural appropriator or one-hit wonder. It doesn’t bother me anymore that people question me.”

Elsewhere, Malone revealed that has more unreleased music with Kanye West. “True,” he said. “We’ve got some more stuff. Secret stuff. I guess it’s not that secret but you haven’t heard it.”
