Kendrick Lamar and Swae Lee Hit the Studio

King Kendrick and Swae Lee connect.

After collaborating on Mike WiLL Made-It’s “Perfect Pint,” Kendrick Lamar and Swae Lee reunited in the studio. An image from their latest session was posted on Swae’s Instagram page.

Sitting next to K-Dot in a plaid buttoned down shirt, one half of Rae Sremmurd threw up a piece sign. Crouched in front of studio speakers, Kung Fu Kenny covered his face with a peace sign of his own.

Lee captioned the photo “Black Mamba,” a reference to retired NBA legend Kobe Bryant, who recently interviewed K-Dot. During the Q&A, Bryant said that Lamar’s rapping reminds him of himself on the basketball court.

“It’s the same hunger,” said Bryant. “You step out there on the court, you’re taking heads off. I don’t want to hear Michael’s the best player in the world. I don’t want to hear they call him Black Jesus. I don’t want to hear it. You’re gonna have to show me.”

It’s unclear what Kendrick and Swae were working on in the lab. Lamar could already be tinkering with a follow-up to this year’s DAMN., while Lee could be crafting portions of SremmLife 3. He and Jxmmi recently dropped a video for the lead single, “Perplexing Pegasus.”
