Jay Z's Roc Nation Renews Live Nation Deal

  /  04.22.2017

Jay Z and Roc Nation are continuing their long-running partnership with Live Nation through a new longterm deal.

With their 10-year $150 million 360 deal coming to an end next year, the two parties have reached an agreement on new, undisclosed terms, according to Billboard.

“Live Nation has a new longterm deal with Jay Z and we expect to continue being equity partners in Roc Nation for many years to come,” said a spokesperson.

According to the report, this may not be an extension of the old deal, but rather a new one that mostly covers Hov’s touring business. Jigga and Live Nation are expected to continue to operate The Roc as a joint venture.

Prior to this, there was some speculation over whether Jay Z would take Roc Nation to Universal Music Group. Per the report, those speculations were unfounded.

News of the Roc Nation deal comes as Hov continues fielding rumors of a comeback solo album and a joint project with his wife Beyoncé. It’s been four years since he unleashed Magna Carta…Holy Grail, but recently, he collaborated with Frank Ocean and Tyler, the Creator on “Biking” and Queen Bey on DJ Khaled’s “Shining.”

His work as a business, man, continues, as well. The rapper is launching a venture capital fund as well as a film and television deal with The Weinstein Company.
