21 Savage Performs 'Bank Account' on 'Ellen'

  /  03.13.2018

Issa television debut for 21 Savage, who performed “Bank Account” on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday (March 13).

Gucci’d down, the Saint Laurent Don ran through his Issa Album hit while strutting on a green bed of fog. While he rhymed about his dough, dollar bills filled the LED screen behind him.

Following the performance, 21 spoke with Ellen about his new educational initiative. “I started the 21 Savage Bank Account campaign,” he said. “It’s to help kids learn how to save their money, make money, and open up bank accounts.”

21’s manager Stone Mound Meezy would later confirm that the initiative was also part of 21’s new non-profit organization Leading By Example. Savage donated $21,000 to Get Schooled as part of the company’s launch.

Financial independence has been an important cause for the Slaughter Gang MC, who is making a conscious effort not to wear jewelry anymore, according to Meezy.

“21 Savage making a choice to not wear jewelry but put his money in the community does not change the content of his music,” he explained. “Savage came out rapping for the ‘have nots’ when you get some money you get blinded blowing your money on them bullshit funds.”
