Watch Future's Documentary 'The WIZRD'

Future takes fans behind the velvet rope in his Apple Music documentary The WIZRD.

Directed by Marcus A. Clarke and produced by Mass Appeal, the hour-long film follows the Atlanta rapper on 2016’s “Purple Reign” tour and offers a rare peek inside his personal life and creative process. He is seen in the studio with Drake while recording “Digital Dash,” shooting hoops with Young Thug, and being a loving father to his kids including baby Future.

The revealing doc includes commentary from his friends and collaborators, including DJ Khaled, Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, Yo Gotti, Organized Noize’s Rico Wade, and André 3000. “Future makes the most negative inspirational music ever,” says the legendary OutKast member.

In between performing hits like “Mask Off,” “March Madness,” and “Fuck Up Some Commas,” Hndrxx reflects on selling drugs, getting shot, his prolific work ethic, and his grandfather’s death. “It’s crazy, my granddaddy not here to see this,” he says. “He wanted this for me so bad because he probably was like, ‘Man, what is he gon’ be?’ He didn’t get a chance to see what his grandson had become and the fucking magnificent change I made as a person, as a grandson.”

The film is dedicated to his best friend and engineer Seth Firkins, who passed away in 2017. “I spent more time with him than my family. I spent more time with him than my kids. I spent more time with him than anybody in the world,” says Future. “Not one day goes by I don’t think about him.”

The WIZRD is also the title of Future’s upcoming seventh full-length album, which drops Jan. 18 featuring the singles “Crushed Up” and “Jumpin on a Jet.”
