Is Pusha-T Sending a Warning to Drake?

  /  01.23.2019

Pusha-T and Drake’s feud may be carrying over into 2019.

The G.O.O.D. Music president seems to be hinting that their beef is not over. Taking to Twitter, Pusha posted a cryptic tweet that many think is aimed at Drake. “You tried, you failed…I’m hearing you wanna try again, this time I’m not gonna play with you, any of you,” he warned his rival.

While Pusha didn’t name any names, that didn’t stop the Drake speculation on social media.

The rappers’ beef escalated after Pusha’s “Infrared” verse, which prompted Drake to release his “Duppy Freesyle.” Pusha responded with his scathing “Story of Adidon,” where he revealed that the Toronto rapper fathered a child. Pusha was expecting a response, but never got one.

“I was in it for the long haul…for hip-hop,” he told Variety. “I thought this was going to be a running thing, back-and-forth. I was sure he’d have a rebuttal. I did what I wanted to do. I only deal in truth, how I see things. When you’re dealing with words, it’s a way of dealing with truth and how the public process that, how they interpret that. And what touches them and what touches the person you’re going against. I actually thought we were going to keep on.”

Pusha’s album Daytona was nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammys, a category that did not include Drake’s Scorpion. But Pusha said he “wasn’t surprised” by Drake’s omission. “I think everybody needs to stay in their respective category,” he told The Associated Press. “I don’t think me and him are in the same category.”

Meanwhile, Pusha has been fueling the fire by retweeting The Weeknd’s video for his Gesaffelstein collaboration “Lost in the Fire” and adding flame emojis. The Weeknd is rumored to take aim at Drake on the track, which includes the lyrics, “And I just want a baby with the right one / ‘Cause I could never be the one to hide one.”
