Frank Ocean to Release 'Endless' Album on Streaming Services

Two-and-a-half years later, Frank Ocean’s Endless is finally coming to streaming services.

The project was expected to be released as early as today, according to Billboard. It previously existed as a 45-minute visual on Apple Music when it debuted on Aug. 18, 2016, but fans have been patiently waiting for a track-by-track album on streaming services.

Other sources say the project won’t be dropping today, but will be available in the near future. It’s unclear why Ocean decided to do a proper release years after the visual dropped.

Endless was an Apple Music exclusive and marked Ocean first new music since 2012’s Channel ORANGE as well as his last release on Def Jam. The experimental 45-minute soundtrack was accompanied by a black-and-white visual in which Ocean showed off his woodworking skills in a warehouse. The music featured appearances from Sampha, James Blake, and Jazmine Sullivan, as well as a cover of Aaliyah’s “At Your Best (You Are Love).”

A day after Endless, Ocean’s sophomore album Blond was released via his own label, Boys Don’t Cry, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

In November 2017, Ocean sold Endless on vinyl, CD, DVD, and VHS through his website.

UPDATE: It appears that Endless won’t be coming to streaming services after all. A Frank Ocean fan account shared the news on Instagram, writing, “soon we’ll be able to listen to Endless track-by-track!!!!!! (officially lol).”

Ocean appeared in the comments to debunk the reports, simply writing, “Fake news.”
