Kodak Black Arrested for Lying on Gun Applications

  /  05.13.2019

Kodak Black was arrested on weapons charges at Rolling Loud Miami over the weekend.

Now more details have emerged over what led to his arrest. According to TMZ, feds claim the rapper allegedly made false statements on two different occasions while applying to buy firearms.

According to the two-count indictment filed against Kodak in the Southern District of Florida, federal prosecutors allege Black knowingly made a false or fictitious statement when he tried purchasing guns in January and again in March. Prosecutors say he acquired weapons during at least one of those transactions.

He allegedly lied on the app when he said was he was not under investigation for a crime that could land him in jail for over a year. Kodak was indicted on sexual assault charges for a 2016 incident, which could put him behind bars for more than a year if convicted.

In response to the latest claims, his attorney Bradford Cohen, told TMZ: “We need to see the evidence in order to fully evaluate the claims made against him.”

On Saturday (May 11), Kodak was arrested on federal and state weapons charges just before taking the stage at the Rolling Loud festival in Miami. He was scheduled to face a judge on Monday, and it’s unclear if he is still in custody.
