6ix9ine is a free man. After being released from Rikers Island on $150,000 bail, the “Gummo” rapper has surrendered to Texas police.

Tekashi was released from Rikers on Friday (July 13), but had to turn himself in to Harris County, Texas authorities and pay $5,000 bail there. According to TMZ, Tekashi flew to Texas over the weekend and showed up after midnight Monday with his attorney Carl Moore where he surrendered and posted bail.

Following his release from Rikers, 6ix9ine posted a video celebrating his freedom. “I’m back home, King of New York City,” he said. “I’m so hype man, I need to get a haircut. King of fucking New York. I’m letting my nuts hang on these ni**as.”

The charge stems from a January incident at Houston’s Galleria Mall where 6ix9ine appeared to choke a 16-year-old. The alleged victim, Santiago Albarran, claims Tekashi told him to delete the footage off his phone before reportedly grabbing him by the neck.

6ix9ine’s arraignment is set for Friday, but he may appear in court today. The misdemeanor carries a maximum of one year in jail.
