Gunna Earns First No. 1 Album with 'WUNNA'

  /  06.01.2020

Gunna goes No. 1.

The Atlanta rapper scores his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with WUNNA, which debuts with 111,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S., of which 4,000 are in album sales.

This marks Gunna’s highest-charting album and biggest week yet. He previously peaked at No. 3 with Drip or Drown 2, which opened with 90,000 units in March 2019. In 2018, he reached No. 4 with Drip Harder, his collaborative project with Lil Baby.

Taking to Twitter, he reacted to the milestone, while acknowledging the current climate. “It’s hard celebrating a #1 album when the world is Hurting,” Gunna tweeted.

Following Gunna is Lil Baby, whose album My Turn rises 3-2 with 65,000 equivalent album units. After debuting atop the Billboard Hot 100 last week, Future’s High Off Life falls to No. 3 in its second week with 61,000 units.

Polo G’s The Goat drops 2-5 in its second week (52,000), Drake’s Dark Lane Demo Tapes dips 4-6 (48,000), and DaBaby’s Blame It on Baby falls 5-7 (42,000).

Elsewhere, The Weeknd’s After Hours drops one spot to No. 8 (40,000), Lil Uzi Vert’s Eternal Atake slips 6-9 (37,000), and Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding slides 8-10 with just under 37,000 units.
