City Girls Drop Surprise Album 'City On Lock'

  /  06.20.2020

City Girls are back, period.

On Friday night, the duo of Yung Miami and JT emerged from lockdown by dropping their new new album City On Lock. Earlier in the day, the album leaked, prompting them to move up the official release.

The 15-track set includes appearances from Doja Cat, Yo Gotti, Lil Durk, and Lil Baby, who appears on “Flewed Out.” Along with the album, they also released a Daps-directed video for the standout “Jobs,” which finds them getting fired from their service job before making bank by starting an OnlyFans page.

City On Lock marks the follow-up to 2018’s Girl Code and the first project from the group since JT’s release from prison in October. Yung Miami, who welcomed a daughter with producer Southside last fall, recently lost her ex-boyfriend and father of her son, Jai Wiggins, who was reportedly shot and killed.

Taking to Instagram, City Girls reflected on their journey. “Blood, sweat & tears. I hope y’all enjoy it thanks to everyone that’s supporting and showing love. I need time to my family & myself thank y’all for everything ENJOY!” said Miami, while JT added, “We from the trenches not the palm trees!!!!! “#cityonlock never imagined we could do all this I’m emotional, love you @yungmiami305.”
