Jay-Z to Release American Gangster Nov. 6

In a surprising move, Jay-Z is scheduled to release a new album called American Gangster on Tuesday, November 6th. The first single from the album is called “Blue Magic” and is expected to be released tomorrow, September 20th. The track is produced by Pharrell and is said to have a ’80s Rakim feel to it. We’ll have the song here as soon as it’s released.

UPDATE: The New York Times has posted an article officially announcing Jay-Z’s new album. American Gangster the album is inspired by the movie of the same name starring Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, and T.I. It hits theaters on November 2nd. This is Jay’s first concept album and came together over the past few weeks after he was shown the film. Two other new songs on the record are called “No Hook” and “Pray.” Click here to read the full story.
