New Music: Solange – ‘F*** the Industry’
If you didn’t know by now, Solange is not her picture-perfect sister Beyoncé. To drive that point home even further, Solo has released a song called “F*** the Industry (Signed Sincerely),” which samples Kanye’s “Everything I Am.” In it, Solange name checks her sister, Jennifer Lopez, Ashanti, Keyshia Cole, and Mary J. Blige, and addresses the music industry and the haters.

I’m really loving Solange and her new direction in music, much better than before. I just feel like she’s going to have to keep fighting back against the bulk of comparisons for a while (it’s the Janet Jackson treatment) but she should be able to get out of the shadows.
