The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul throws in a bid for Best Original Song with “I Can See in Color” written for Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire. Mary really did her thing on this song , one of the best she’s done in alongggg time. this was chosen after the directer, Lee Daniels felt Mariahs acting should be showcased, he wanted mariah to be seen as the actress, not the singer .

The song is flawless…The raw vocals, the emotion, & the lyrics is why she’ll win an oscar. This is the Mary we all love. NO ONE is doing this sound…I hope radio plays it! And I hope you all download it.

Mmmhm! Mary is giving me straight up “GRITS” soul music in this song. I’m talking about taking it back to the days of al green, aretha franklin, sam cooke, otis redding. Emotion and raw.

The song is powerful but MJB”s strong and soulful delivery was the main focus as it should be. It gave me a good feeling inside and out. This song showed MJB”s strength as well as why she is still one of the greats in hiphop R&B/Soul music today. Way to go Mary.

Grammy maybe, but she WILL NOT win an oscar. The academy doesn’t support these type of songs. Just look at bruce springsteen’s song for the wrestler last year.
