Alicia Keys premiered “Empire State of Mind (Part 2)” during a performance for iHeartRadio. The sequel to her collaboration with Jay-Z features a mellowed beat and new lyrics. It will appear on her fourth album The Element of Freedom (Dec. 15). The original song tops the charts this week, giving Jay the first No. 1 hit of his own on the Billboard Hot 100.

Wow, i’m surprised it went #1. I always thought that if “Run This Town” didn’t go #1 then “Empire State of Mind” didn’t have a chance but i was wrong. Congrats to Jay + Alicia!

well it will be her ONLY #1 on this album- thankg god for jay alicia because your cd is going to flop

none of your singles are doing well NONE OF THEM
i’m suprised it went #1- but i guess she can say she has a #1 single this year now- thanks to jay z

@Elijah, You seem bitter. All of AK’s albums are multi platinum. I’m sure this one will be too. She hasa strong fan base. Why u mad? Lame.

@LLS, again she had #1 hit singles from those albums. And all of the songs were getting major airplay.

alicia will not go multi-platinum this time around.
