Chris Brown’s Peers Come Knocking Again

Chris Brown

After feeling the fallout from 2009’s domestic violence incident with Rihanna, Chris Brown is starting to feel welcomed again by his music industry peers. The “Deuces” singer is speaking out about his tough climb back to the top and which artists stood by his side through the ups and downs.

“A handful of people stuck by me,” Breezy told Page Six Magazine, revealing that Pharrell and Pitbull were among his loyal supporters.

But others weren’t as eager to lend a hand when he was in trouble. “When [most] people see certain things happen to somebody, they usually turn away,” he explained. “They don’t want to get involved with it because they don’t want their name attached to anything negative.”

With the impending release of his fourth album F.A.M.E. on March 22, the blond star has noticed that his contemporaries are starting to come around now that he’s back on the charts. “They wanna get on the record. They wanna let me back in the door,” he continued. “The last two years, everybody dissed me. But my fans were so dedicated. The way I look at it is, you can’t walk around mad, because then you just prove everybody right that you’re an angry person.”

I dnt kno he mean by no one wants to lend a helping hand when someone is down because when T.I and Weezy went to prison every artist was supporting them, TI went back to prison and artist are still supporting. The reason no one was backing u is because Rihanna is their peer too, no one wanted to take sides.

    King Makers Reply:

@Wasalu, : Friends and Family should be all thats left when the world desert you. If a little boy does something wrong, you don’t send him on exile nor pat him on the back either, but you bring him closer, correct/advise him and give him at least a chance to implement the correction

I mean com’on, the kid was only 19 @ the time, & u are treating him like he killed someone as if its not a usual “juvenal relationship situation” that “commonly” happens with in-experienced teenagers in our society, I bet you all have a relative or someone close to you that you treat differently.

All those that were old enough to mentor him, in that industry were cajoled by the ever judgmental public with their fingers on the trigger just waiting to accuse/ blame someone other than themselves for their personal frustrations.

    [Reply]

    Wasalu Reply:

@King Makers, I understand completely what you are saying, but I also do not think consolidation is the right way to handle a person who is in the wrong.

I never said they should abandon him, especially not his family. It just seems kind of like self pity when someone, anyone for that matter, complains about a consequence when they very much brought it upon themselves.

@Dubem, I actaully thought a lot about what I said and I stand by it. I think maybe YOU should take yourself out of being a CB fan and just look at the situation as if he was an average citizen.

Again, not hating. I think his music is great, I just don’t really like some of the things he says.

    [Reply]

    King Makers Reply:

@Wasalu,: Its not self pity nor a complaint, No one needs to be a fan to admit thats there is something seriously wrong here. We know in the world of entertainment is always littered with scandal, many of them are overlooked unless its by the “black man” then its crucifiction time. So blinded by hate that they even spare a “child”-MY GOD! no mercy on a “black baby” that slipped once in his life. Although i know the black race is coursed and thats why they always turn against their own. Its as if, they need another black man’s failure to consolidate their under-achievements

Its not self pity of complaint Hope you still remember that this was an interview?, and he was asked questions to which he answered?, Look he’s already suffered and finished his punishment so how can you think he is complaining now? @VA STAND UP said & i 2nd, he has a right to share his feeling with his fans after all, he alone knows how it felt to be the scape goat of the “WORLD” plus a black scape goat for that matter.

Since when did personal life and career become the same thing? cos it didn’t matter with Charlie Sheen or Eminem. He’s still a young boy growing & learning yet people have been treating him like a hardened criminal & desperately want to terminate his career. What lessons are we teaching the young generation? that they should never make a mistake? that if they slip once and repent, you are still doomed?

You just said his music is great, so what do people have to gain personally if his career ends? he didn’t bring the recession so why is he made to die for the sins of many? As an upright citizen, someone needs to take the initiative and do the right thing like pharell Williams, Pitbull, Keri Hilson, Omarion, Bow-wow, Lil wayne, Diddy, Swiss etc We know & i am sure he realize that its not good to hit a woman no matter how irritating or annoying or provocative they get, not even in self defense or if your life is at risk.

Having a personal experience with abuse, I think that what he was did was wrong BUT the best thing that could have happened to him was that it was brought to light. I seriously hope he will, having been through this, never raise his hand to hurt a woman/anyone again. If he’s learned something from this and left it in his rear-view mirror then good for him. I bear him no ill will, for I don’t know him personally to start with. Some people who are judging are abusive in one way or the other to start with, we just don’t see what they do on the news.

The nerve of a Rihanna fan getting upset over him talking about this when he isn’t directly refering to that night as she does all the time. Yes she is a victum but they both have just as much a right to say what they want about it as the other.

What I don’t get is how people can sit up here and say “he acts like someone owes him something”. Can you read? He never said anything like that. Clearly he is talking about how people were quick to turn away from him until he got back on the charts. And ya’ll sitting here saying “well he needs to understand what he did was wrong” So let me get this straight. At the age of 19 you aren’t that experienced with life in general and you fuck up and the ones you THOUGHT you could count on turn on you and that’s okay? No the hell it’s not. Thats phoney. He isn’t saying they should have gave him a pat on the back or express sympathy. But if I was going through something I would expect my so called “friends” to be by my side to guide me to the right path and only a handful of people were there to help him do that!

If you aren’t gonna read, and think, or have nothing nice to say just don’t post. Please do us all a favor. Thanks.

Hold your head up Chris! F.A.M.E. in 14 days!

@Anonymous, I’m 17 years old and I have enough self control to never lay my hands on a woman.

But I do agree that nobody should’ve turned their back on him, they should be there to help him become a better person. It just seems kinda wrong when people say he “went through alot”—it’s true, but then again he brought it on himself.

    [Reply]

    J.Mcki Reply:

@Wasalu, Thank you for actually bringing intelligence to this post as there is very little due to some of these deranged fans. What bothers me is that he’s still mad at people who are doing the SAME thing as him, trying to keep there name intact. Also, someone should have told him industry friends are not loyal when it comes to their business lives. Some of the people he’s upset at have families and bills that have to be paid and there name is what’s going to pay that. In the industry, you can’t have bad press because it really messes with your money and your brand. Look at Charlie Sheen…it kills me because he could be sooo huge right now, but then he keeps messing up because he keeps behaving in such a cocky manner. As a fan of him and Rihanna, I want him to succeed but damn does he make it hard for me to like him as a person when he behaves like a child…

    [Reply]

    Tracie Reply:

@J.Mcki, I didn’t read in the article where he said he was mad at anyone..then or now. He simply stated the fact that he lost many friends when it happened and he’s regained some lately. He didn’t say ‘well eff everyone who didn’t have my back’. Try not to read between the lines because many of a celebrities words can me misconstrued when read and not heard.

    [Reply]

    King Makers Reply:

@Wasalu,: Em Congrats wasalu…(not to excuse Chris), but you didn’t grow up in his household or have a similar pressure of his status, or had a girlfriend like Rihanna (thats if you’ve had a girlfriend yet), So its presumptwards to compare. You seem intelligent i must say however, try and understand that even the wisest people still fall-its human right from the bible to this present day.

@j.mcki: he isn’t “doing” anything, he “did” something over 2 years ago, thats all so find someone else that repeatedly does something to compare to Charlie Sheen but not Chris. Common excuse for disloyalty is money and woman but “a friend in need is a friend indeed”. Fair enough they didn’t support him, but why are they flooding back now, don’t they have any shame?

Women must feel empowered now, cos they can get away with murder now. they can say or do anything, they cant be touched. No wonder, more and more men are afraid of commitment & divorce rate is on the increase. Men have no value or rights, its all been taken away so why should they care. Look at half of the lyrics from singers nowadays, is not how to cherish a woman and spend the rest of your life with them- NO its to F**K THEM AND LEAVE. The cycle wouldn’t stop until women realize that they are just just as responsible for the result of their relationships as men cos RiRi walked away scot free of any challenge.

His life is NOT over. I mean, what if I told you to go play on a highway in front of semi- trucks? How would that make you feel? I see a BIGGER conspiracy hidden under RiRi relationship situation thats why i even bother. She is used a a shield while attacking Chris for “unknown” reasons that is why i don’t attack her.

As for RiRi, its been a bitter sweet experience for her “in my opinion” its earned her a dream career with the help of obsessed people like “sandra rose” her account is over flowing with their money.

I really and truly enjoy Breezy’s music AND dance moves cos he knows something only Michael Jackson knows about music & entertainment & Usher has been disappointing me recently cos he lacks the elements he once had especially now that MJ his gone.

I am not here to persuade anyone to buy Breezy’s music, I only come here to enjoy unbiased & constructive reviews of his music not to fight with anyone. His dance moves are dope, his vocal ideas are fantastic, thats all that concerns me, NOT HIS DICK OR WHO HE USED IT ON LAST.

    [Reply]

    King Makers Reply:

    @Wasalu & @marlon: Answer this one question,

what is the difference between “an abuse & a fight”? does it depend on the sex of the parties? or its only a fight when its btw males but an abuse when its with a female?

I think in all fairness, what happened is btw them is called a “fight” not an abuse & we all know that it never ends well so, why start it? especially because you found a text msg on an RnB king’s phone?

My only issue with Chris’s action was, why did he allow himself to get that angry enough to even touch her? but then, he is NEW to the world of women and his learnt the hard way & is still paying a mighty price.

I am glad he took responsibility for EVERYTHING and all is well between them now even though they’ve parted ways now. It could have been worse, at least he 1st parked the car cos they could have both died in a car accident.

@King Makers, All we know for sure is that Ri walked away battered. Trust me, I’m not some Rihanna stan or Chris hater. i just base my opinion of their character off of what I know…and that is that he beat her. If we knew that rihanna hit him first or gave him the face she ended up with that night, things would be alot different.

A fight is when both parties are able and willing to defend themselves. Its abuse when we have no factual evidence that she was violent first.

Given the fact that he himself hasn’t said that she was violent towards him makes me feel like she wasn’t. He seems like a pretty open guy when it comes to that stuff.

But I have absolutely no hate for Chris, I am honestly just sick of hearing about the personal lives of musicians, because I think it sways people’s judgement of what everyone on this site loves…MUSIC, which it shouldn’t

Let them have their personal lives and let us have the music.

@Marlon, How do you know what he has or hasn’t learned. You sound like a very violent angry person yourself Marlon. Seek counseling right away before you do harm to yourself of someone else. Really.

good for you chris it’s hard being young and going through something the he did yeah he fucced up when someone makes a mistake like he did he doesn’t need to be judged he or hell anyone for that matter needs support, prayer uplifting, counseling even whatever it takes I think anyone unwilling to forgive needs to turn a critical eye toward themselves yeah sure maybe you wouldn’t slip up and hit your girlfriend but like everyone else in the world you’re flawed and I’m sure have fucced in some way (Marlon n other H8rs) what someone does one time does not represent the type of person they are we all loved chris before that happened and we love him now and for those who are truly interested in his well being as a human are glad that he is not in the same place he was he makes people happy with the music he makes and should be allowed to share that with the world

just imagine he has killed her in that night. ‘well, what someone does one time does not represent the type of person they are’….we are not talking about stealing a car. He punched a women hard in the face. – That’s is just digusting, wrong and unexcusable. I am the opinion that he shouldn’t be in the public eye anymore. He should retire from music and having some serious long-term therapy.

I am not a hater. I barely know his music or anything about him.
But I hate violent sexisists and I can’t believe that people still routing for him, even women. What happens in 40 years feminism. Well, not enough!!!

@Marlon, Why would you imagine something so horrible??? Listen to yourself. You sound like a FOOL!!! No one is sitting here saying that what he did was right. You don’t seem to understand that when we say we’re rooting for Chris, we are wishing for him to deal with the issues going on in his life and change for the better, but you seem to think that we support abuse, which absolutely WRONG! And I really don’t think that he should retire from music if that is what he loves to do.

    1. Ignorance is really bliss for some of the people that have commented on this post. I have never been a Rihanna fan, before or after the incident, so I typically do not comment on posts that relate to her in any way, shape, or form. He has an album coming out and like any other artist he is doing interviews to bring attention to the album. In those interviews the Rihanna situation, the fallout after it, and the reassurgance of his career will be main topics to talk about.
    2. If you do not like him as an artist or a person then keep your negative comments to yourself. If you voice them then you look like a hater when you may not be one.
    3. What happened between them happened BETWEEN THEM. And for the people who are still mad at him for something that did not happen to them, GET OVER IT. What’s done is done. He knows what he did was wrong and so does the rest of the world. People are quick to bring up that discrepancy in his career, but nobody talks about the fact that he turned himself in, owned up to his responsibility, and postively moved on with his life. Everybody speaks of forgiveness, but nobody actually forgives. Fans and non-fans have nothing to forgive him for because he did nothing to us. The only person that has the right to be mad is Rihanna and seeing as how she is in and out of relationships I think she has already moved on.

you know what i find so pathetic…all you rihanna clit riders is on here talking mess about chris probably without reading the damn interview !! chris know what he did was wrong..he made a mistake and learned from it..the past is the past!!! there are many men abusing they women every single day but its not a big deal huh ?? because if it was that would be the topic on everyday news..but since its chris brown the “celebirty” people are acting like he committed murder..hes not asking people too feel sorrt for him !!! he is simply stating how hard it was and how he felt people who claim they was is friend turned their back on him!! no matter what crime you did..theirs nothing wrong with having someone who will let you know everything will be okay !! all of you commenting nevgative bullshit on here need to take the time and read the damn post…stop being ignorant !! yes hitting a women is wrong but this incident was a one time thing..yall cant hold this against him forever…but yet people walking around talking about free bossie and shit when he “MURDERED” someone!! hmmmmm !! its time for people to build a bridge and get over it..chris is doing everything in his power to get his life back to the way it was!! he learned from his mistakes and doing whatever it takes to better himself. i feel hes changed and i will continue to support him . this rihanna bullshit needs to be dropped…it was 2 years ago !! snap back to reality and worry about those being abused on a regular bases : )

I can understand why some people didn’t want their names attached to the incident. They have every right to. Chris is the one that made a horrible mistake. However, people like Raz-B, who call him out for no good reason are just dumb. I kind of understand where Chris is coming from, but it’s not like he deserved the whole industry to have his back. He should be grateful that there were people that did have his back. Those are true friends. I’m over it, though, just ready to enjoy his new music!

Man Breezy is the greatest!!! Just listened to his F.A.M.E. and I got chills! This album KILLS Graffiti! I love Graffiti but, this album is just…amazing! It’s so different. He’s using so many different sounds I’ve never heard him use before. Really feelin “All Back,” “She Ain’t You,” “Paper Scissors Rocks,” “Up 2 You,” “Bomb,” “I Should’ve Kissed You,” “Beautiful People’ and I can’t stop dancing to “SAY IT WITH ME!” Every producer on every song just Killed it!! Man his album is good! Im buying the day it comes out! Aint no album fillers on here. I expect nothing less from CB though.

Ain’t no other R&B dudes even touchin CB right now! He just got a talent for making good music.

And I said I was gon wait til I bought the album to listen :? lol I couldn’t help it. AMAZING! MARCH 22!!!!
