« Tracklisting: Maybach Music Group – ‘Self Made Vol. 1’R. Kelly Announces ‘Love Letter’ Tour with Keyshia Cole, Marsha Ambrosius »Video: Lauryn Hill Ready to Return to Music, Hints at PregnancyLauryn Hill brought her “Moving Target: Extended Playdate Series” to Club NOKIA in downtown Los Angeles on Monday night (April 18). Dressed in baggy coat, long skirt, and headband, a bohemian Ms. Hill had fans wondering if she was carrying her sixth child after wearing another oversized outfit during her appearance at Coachella this weekend. She alluded to her possible pregnancy during the concert. “I keep having these children. I don’t know if I’m the most fertile woman in America,” said the former Fugee, who then performed “To Zion” written about her first born. The hot topic was discussed again later in the evening. “I’ve got five big children, you believe that? If you ask anybody I went to high school with, they’d be like puzzled… Wait till you hear the big secret though.”
But that wasn’t the only surprise. L. Boogie also announced that she’s almost ready to make her long-awaited return to music. “As I get back up and start to do this again, make more music and present it to the people, I want you to know how much I appreciate your support, the fact that you’re still here,” she said. “You know my intention has always been to make music from my heart and to say something that means something not just to myself, but means something to you as well.” She continued, “I’ma be honest. I give the floor to whoever deserves the floor. You don’t hear me making music for no reason. If I have something to say and I really mean something, that’s when it’s time to put something out. And it’s getting close to that time, don’t you think? As my Jamaican brethren say, soon come.” Watch the Grammy-winning singer perform “Killing Me Softly” and “Doo Wop (That Thing)” below. her voice has lost it’s pure quality.
- she sounds like she’s struggling.
hope someone can rehabilitate some of her melodic purity back into her & into some new music.

@jeremydante, this is a legend…she doesn’t make generic music…and like Ingrid said…she’s been touring for the last year and a half…now why don’t your favorite artists…do that and see where their voice gets..

@Vera,legend are not you are missing the point
MJ kept is voice and passion until the day he die,jeremydante isn’t dissing Lauren no one ever disses lauren,he is just simple saying lauren don’t have the passion she used to have,even lauren admit it in an interview,that she have to have to passion to make music again,she don’t make music for the sake of making music,she puts her heart and soul in to it,but when she fines that passion for music again she will be making music again even another album,Vera you misunderstood what jeremydante was saying,and when you said why don’t is fav artist do that i know off the bat who your are putting shades on without you calling a name,you see how misunderstanding happens.

I was there last night and after making everyone wait over 3 hours, she was not on her A Game, her voice was horrible, she sped up her songs to almost un recognizable.. So sad to see what happened to her, people were walking out of the theater disappointed in her performance shaking their heads

And yet she sounds fine in these videos. If she doesn’t have a pure quality in her voice, it could possibly that she’s been touring non stop for almost 1 1/2 years. The voice does get tired. She was already hoarse during the coachella set and now it’s a little better but she’s on her way back to how she sounded in Atlanta PART 2 and Hawaii–just a couple weeks ago. People need to calm the dramatics. Singers get hoarse and have to make things work….they’re not robots!

@Ingrid, tour or no tour- artists like celine dion have maintained near perfect voices & have toured the world over, two years back to back. you can clearly hear that lauryn has partaken in some activity that has damaged her cords & altered her singing ability.

i’m confused…..doesnt’ your voice age like wine, it gets better with time? Beyonce is able to tour for like two yrs and sing live at every concert with passion and her voice, and nothing is missing, yea maybe shes a robot, but she able to do it. Lauyn Hill and Witney Houston just gave up on taking care of there pipes……

@lost1wons
Beyonce may be able to tour for two years and sound the same on every show, but she’ll never have the soul and the pipes that Lauryn and Whitney have (or at least had). But unlike Whitney, Lauryn can still blow. Watch her concert at the House of Blues in Orlando, Florida. She still has a voice, and don’t forget that she had 5 kids. A woman’s body goes through drastic changes during and after pregnancy. I’d say she sounds great for a mother of five.
