Rap-Up.com || Lauryn Hill Welcomes Sixth Child

Lauryn Hill has added another member to her growing family. The former Fugee gave birth to a baby boy over the weekend.

Hill, 36, welcomed a son on Saturday (July 23). The father was not immediately identified. She has five previous children with Bob Marley’s son Rohan Marley.

According to Blackcelebkids.com, who first reported the news, the Grammy-winning singer “had a little scare because the baby came out the womb with the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck.” But mother and child are doing fine. “All is well now and everyone is happy,” adds the source.

Marley congratulated Hill on the birth of her son. “I’m forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son,” he tweeted. “I’m sure she’ll appreciate the love being sent to her RASTAFARI R.M.”

Hill first hinted at her pregnancy at one of her recent concerts. “I keep having these children. I don’t know if I’m the most fertile woman in America,” she joked during a Los Angeles gig.

She wrote an open letter to her fans last month where she addressed her pregnancy and apologized for being late to her shows. She is scheduled to perform at the Rock the Bells Festival next month.

SMH What is the disappointment is that only in the BLACK community do we think that having children is a bad thing.

Do you ever hear caucasian’s complaining about having children? Asians? Mexicans? NOPE! I’m embarrased to be apart of a culture ONLY because we don’t know the TRUE meaning of wealth.

She’s not asking anyone for money…why is she an embarrassment? Black people are so brainwashed that having money is the only way to a happy life…that’s why father’s day is a joke and mother’s day is like the sabbath. get a freakin’ clue…quickly please!

I pray I can have that many kids AND be able to take care of them! That’s what she’s doing…she never asked for your help OR your opinion. get a life.

the first Rohan tweet about not being the father seemed questionable, but to tweet again about it, it’s obvious he’s not the father of the sixth one. Well, this is what is great about being a fan, and not a stan, the mystery that surrounds an artist. I’m glad the paparazzi doesnt follow Lauryn Hill around and hackle her like they did Amy Winehouse, or britney spears, and Beyonce. Lauryn will keep us in a frenzy until she decides to speak on it.

now i hear (well, rather read) the 6th child is not even marley’s.

so let’s review this foolishness: 5 OUT OF WEDLOCK children with a man who is still married to another woman; a sixth child from a new man; and, possibly suffering from mental illness and not doing a damn thing about it except popping out more kids like an animal.

clearly, lauryn is having a “rough” time. the men who are having sex with this woman, knowing full well she is not all together mentally well, is disgusting.

Some of these people swear like its any of their business as to how many kids she can have, and how she lives her life. The ignorance of so many is just laughable. People making statements as if they know Lauryn Hill personally. Give the woman some love and stop hating on peeps. A child is a blessing and homegirl is probably hustling out here doing what she has to, to support her family. Let’s hope many of you are doing the same besides talking all that mess.
