Rita Ora’s invasion begins. The blonde beauty stormed New York radio with Jay-Z earlier today to premiere “How We Do (Party)” (previously titled “Party & Bullshit”), the first U.S. single from her Roc Nation debut. The infectious pop jam, which borrows its familiar refrain from Biggie, serves as the soundtrack for your next barbecue or block party. Rita is working with Drake, The-Dream, Stargate, and more of today’s top hitmakers on her album, due this summer.

I like it…I just hope Jay-Z doesn’t turn her into a pop artist as she has a really soulful voice.
Way to do it for the UK, nevertheless.

I was expecting something a bit more ‘urban.’ This song seems like it would better suit Ke$ha or Katy Perry. No doubt it will succeed at radio though; which they were obviously going for. I think she’ll do well. I can just sense it.

Hahaha, these comments are truly funny, interesting, and & completely ambiguous! I’m so happy to see another beautifully mixed, fresh faced, and talented female from rocnation come into the industry (The more the merry)!
In light to those saying Rita is Rihanna’s demise or replacement – lol! In no way shape or form can she cause the demise of Rihanna simply that when you compare their voices (studio recording wise) Rihanna brings something extra or uniquely different from the bunch. Secondly, in the looks department Rita favors Rihanna slightly which could either remind you more of Rihanna or cause you to like Rita more (upto you). Lastly, Rihanna is very young (24) with the success of a veteran, causes viewers to only want to see her do more and pribabky prefer her than Rita cause Rihanna never looks the same, sound the same, she dancing now, working on another album for the end of the year or early next year – which cause Rihanna to stay fresh everytime.
I’m watching Rita simply cause she looks like Rihanna and have done some good songs so far plus is a label mate at rocnation – meaning we might a Beyonce collabo’, Rihanna, or all three!

She’s only gettin this much buzz b/c she signed w/ jay. Bottom line is, she has a voice, she’s cute, but there’s nothing unique about this…it’s the same overly-saturated, watered down, pop shyt we hear all day, everyday…her voice isn’t unique, the beat sounds the same as any other pop/dance track, i don’t see any distinct style with her appearance, and u can’t compare her ANYONE b/c she hasn’t even established herself yet…i’ll give her a couple more singles/videos/performances before i really decide whether i like her or not…so far this is blahhhh…
[Reply]
February 25th, 2012 at 6:22 pm
this better not be the best she has to offer single-wise. they need to go back to the drawing boards. her image is all there but the music isn’t cutting it.
[Reply]
February 26th, 2012 at 12:16 am
IF this is the weakest track she has as a single, then she’s on to a great start, because that means she can only go up from here, but if this is the best she has to offer, like if this is suppose to be “that” joint, then her career will fade so fast she’ll have whip-lash
