Rap-Up.com || Akon Debuts New Single ‘America’s Most Wanted’ on Miss USA Competition

Akon was surrounded by beautiful women during his performance at the 2012 Miss USA pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Sunday. The well-dressed singer hit the stage during the “Final Look” portion of the competition to debut “America’s Most Wanted,” the new single off his upcoming album Stadium, due September 11. “You’re America’s most wanted tonight/ I’ll do my 25 to life if I can have you by my side,” sings Akon on the Auto-Tuned record.

Yet another electro-autotuned-R&B record. Akon used to be a trend-setter. He lost his way with his last album and then a quick taste of forgettable radio fodder with David Guetta makes him think he can ride the charts with revolutionary new sound. Its been done a million times before by generic two-hit wonders like Taio Cruz, Sean Kingston, Flo Rida, Taio Cruz… the list goes on. No one even calls Akon to produce hits anymore and his label is as good as dead (runs of the royalities from Gaga’s first album). Just release Stadium, let it flop (its inevitable) and then disappear for a while.

How can not the album Freedom not be a trend-setter. Extremley good. You are this typical guy who sits home and just doesn’t know anything. You prob don’t know about his single Hurt somebody? His mixtape koncrete with songs like still a survivor. Go back to sleep and stop hate.

People saying Akon is copying Florida, Taio Cruz e.t.c don’t know nothing about the music industry. Akon pretty much introduced and brought the Euro Dance music sound to the U.S and Urban Music “Right Na Na” and “Beautiful” were trendsetter records done way before Usher, Chris Brown,Florida, even Gaga jumped on the Dance Music wave.
I dont think Akon gets enough credit, but think about it, he has been one of the most influential figures in urban and pop music in the last decade. Think of it he signed Tpain and they both pretty much changed the sound of the music industry with the auto tune sound, remember like 3years ago when every urban record was that auto tune sound. He saw the potential of the dance sound, and premiered Right Na and Beautiful and that sound has pretty much become the standard pop sound with even Urban RnB artists like Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj going to Dance music. Third he signed Lady Gaga, that one needs no explanation. The man did his thing, and will go down in history as having had an impact on the music game.

just because people’s taste in music has
changed due to the changes made at the music
industry. Akon used to release singles that smashed worldwide
and were a big sucess before the appearance of artists like
Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber,
Tyga, The Wanted, One direction and new artist we hear nowadays.
These artists became popular in a short time. this has lead Akon’ssingles “Angel”, “Take it down low”, “Wake Up Call”,
etc. not chart at the top because of people’s taste in music nowadays.

akon is never copying Florida, Taio Cruz etc. i dunno why you people keep on saying that “the old akon us better” . Akon is Akon. Its all because the introduction of singers such as Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Bieber etc. changed people’s taste in music and made them say that. I see that akon is still making good music and never fails to impress people whether pop music, RnB, Urban or Hip Hop. He’s just waiting for the right time to release and promote his music. There were many singers who disappeared and released songs that aced up the charts such as JLo, Enrique Igliseas etc.
