DMX Disapproves of Drake’s Aaliyah Collaboration![]() DMX’s distaste for Drake is no secret. The outspoken rapper has called out the Canadian star before, but he’s not finished. During an interview with Sway on MTV’s “RapFix Live,” X once again ridiculed Drizzy’s music.
“He has talent, but it’s kinda redundant, it’s kinda the same all the time to me personally. It’s an annoying sound,” barked the New York veteran, who compared Drake’s sound to a washing machine. He also criticized the Young Money MC’s participation in the posthumous Aaliyah album. “I’m kinda feelin’ some kinda a way about the fact that you been commissioned, that you been blessed, you’ve been given the opportunity to do the Aaliyah album yet you don’t include anybody that she worked with personally,” said X, who had a close relationship with the late singer. Blackground Records called upon Drake and his production partner Noah “40” Shebib to executive produce the album, which has come under fire from fans. Aaliyah’s longtime friend and collaborator Missy Elliott won’t be involved in the project, according to her manager Mona Scott-Young. “How do you disregard what this woman did? What this beautiful angel did and say, ‘Oh OK, I’m gonna take it for myself because I’m hot right now and I’m feelin’ myself,’” said DMX. “How do you just go there with it? Your balls ain’t that big, son.” You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 94 CommentsLeave a Reply

@Get Money B!tch
“Lil’Kim,Missy,Timbo,DMX,Common,Luda”?
Wasn’t Drake the one who decided he wanted to get involved in the Nicki Minaj/Lil Kim situation?
Wasn’t Drake the one who took part in this Aaliyah album but didn’t reach out to anybody who worked with Aaliyah before she died?
Wasn’t Drake the one who took offense to a song in which Common didn’t drop any names?
Wasn’t Drake the one who credited himself for being the 1st rapper to have a certain “rap style” forgetting Ludacris did the same style once upon a time as well?
Drake brought all that on himself, reason why? Because he opens his mouth a little to much.
And none of those artist you named “hate” on him, they all stated that he has “talent”, the problem is you b*tches get sh*t confused between being a “hater”
and just giving your all out opinion.
You expect Drake and Nicki to open their mouth 24/7 but no one say anything back? DMX has always been a out spoken person, they asked him a question and he gave
his opinion, wouldn’t you have did the same?
And him using “drugs” is a nonfactor, because almost every rapper/singer in the industry today does the same.

@musician, No one is denying that this is a great opportunity for Drake, what people are saying is that he needs to work with the people who helped create Aaliyah’s sound and who have spent enough time with her to know what direction she was gonna be taking with her music. Why is this so hard to understand? It is not like Aaliyah commited suicide and therefore she did not have plans for her future, her life was tragically cut short in that plane crash.

Drake is one of the top 10 Best Mainstream rappers in hip hop and the whole music industry right now. I respect DMX, DMX was one of the top 10 Best Mainstream rappers back in the late 1990s, and early 2000s, but DMX has fallen off when it comes to putting out great music. DMX does have a long history of being a full blown drug addict, crackhead, and acholic even though I won’t hold it against him because nobody in this world is perfect. DMX needs to realize that Aaliyah’s family and Blackground Records gave permission to Drake to executive produce Aaliyah’s new album.
If it is true that Drake didn’t reach out to Missy Elliott and Timbaland to work with him on Aaliyah’s new album, then Drake was wrong for not reaching out to both Missy Elliott and Timbaland. Other than that, Drake was given permission by Blackground Records to produce the album. If DMX don’t like the fact that Drake is producing Aaliyah’s next album, then DMX needs to blame Blackground Records for their decision.
I’m not saying that Drake is innocent in every beef he gets into with other music artists. Everybody believes Drake was wrong for the club incident that happen between Drake and Chris Brown. Everybody believes that Drake was wrong for defending Nicki Minaj by dissing Lil Kim. A lot of people took Common, Pusha T, and Ludacris’ sides against Drake. I defended Pusha T when he got into his war of words with both Drake and Lil Wayne. At the end of the day, Drake is a talented rapper who is at the top of the music industry.
DMX is a real person, but DMX is the last person who should be calling Drake cocky, even if Drake is cocky and arrogant. Almost every rapper in the music industry is cocky and arrogant to a certain point. In order to be a top rapper in the music industry, you have to believe you are Number 1, even if you are cocky. DMX has a long history of making songs talking about killing people in a cocky, crazy way. I hope DMX gets some help and start acting more sober. I hope DMX puts down the drugs and make his life better again. To everybody who hates on Drake for no legit reason, Drake is the early favorite and early frontrunner to lead the nominations at the 2013 Grammy Awards next year.

I kind of agree with what X had to say about Drake being involved with the Aaliyah project. It would be better if Timbaland & Missy were all doing the project together. People who were around and knew Aaliyah personally should be involved in the project. Aaliyah’s family DO NOT approve of this Aaliyah project being made so that should tell you something too. Unfortunately, Aaliyah’s family also DO NOT own the rights to her music catalog either :( As far as the song goes…It would have sounded better if Drake wasn’t on it because all that cursing and dissing wasn’t necessary. I also hope this isn’t a plot to exploit or make money off Aaliyah. IMO Drake seems to have an unhealthy obsession with Aaliyah with using her samples, taking verses from her songs, getting tattoos of her, pictures of her and now being involved on her project? So it’s just a little too creepy for me, but if they had known each other than it would have been a different story.

Does no one care that this man is CLEARLY high on crack right now? Like, why are you concerned what he says when dude is back on the drugs. Watching that video made me uncomfortable because it’s like a man intent on killing himself. And you people just sit there and act like it’s all good.
