@Tammy, Ok lets take your argument apart first the term “middle east” was made (coined) in 1957. So Jesus if you believe in him he could not have been “middle eastern” Next you say he is “Israeli” which if you were trying to argue Jewish well yes he was, however that doesn’t mean he had olive skin-tone although many Israeli citizens now have those characteristic Israel as we now it now was made in 1948.

@Are you serious, Doesn’t matter when the terms were coined. The fact it we know where he was born. Israel. We can look it modern day Israelis, and conclude that he is in fact olive toned. If you need more proof, then you should know that it is widely assumed that Jesus was Galilean Semite and they were olive-colored just like any other modern day middle-eastern. So again. Not white or black.

@Tammy, First no you can’t look at modern populations as a reference for the past. A great example is Australia which current majority has European heritage unlike the aboriginal Australians who were once the majority before the arrival of the Europeans. Next if you examine the book of Revelation 1:14-15 it gives a description of Jesus read the passage for yourself

Jesus was of African descent, doesn’t necessarily mean black, but his image changes depending on whatever supremacy we’re trying to promote. Radical feminist jesus, anyone? (That’s funny, because Jesus would have been a feminist by today’s standards).
Before and during the Renaissance era in Europe, images of blackness and whiteness had more literary implications (white = pure, black = evil). This black reference is called “pitchy” black and “pitchy” white, as in a pigment unachievable by any skin tone without make up. In some cultures, like Japan, those images are reversed. (White is a color used for mourning instead of black).
It eventually through time the literary implications became racist.
It makes me sad to see hip hop culture promote one ideal and not all ideals of success. It doesn’t have to mean money, material things, or violence. Safety, personal and spiritual happiness should matter too. If there was an image that anyone should copy for their own identity, it should be the latter, otherwise our culture – white privilege culture – can turn around and say “see, you’re an animal. It’s in your blood.” It makes me sad how women are objectified in hip hop media versus how men are portrayed. Just look at the magazine covers if not the videos!
I am a white woman doing my best to challenge white and male privilege, because we’re all humans and all deserve equality in every measure, especially when it comes with communicating our experiences.
I like this song. It feels very uplifting, but I would really like to see the lyrics to be sure!

@God, look at the world today and tell me there’s no Evil And for there to have evil you have to have good the question is where did did it come from? Who’s to determine what’s good and what’s evil ? It had to start from some where I find the the bible is the only thing that realy explains thoses things whether u belive in Jesus or not

@Ok, the muslims say the exact same thing you just said about their god. so does every other damn religion.
you don’t need jesus or Christianity to know right from wrong. just because some people are bad doesnt prove the existence of jesus that’s human nature. you seem to forget that most of the wars and atrocities of human history were waged in the name of jesus. relgion and jesus have nothing to do with god and goodness.

@uet, little do people know that’s were the devil comes in…everyone forgets that Satin is apart of this wicked system and he tries to make Jesus look bad. the Bible states satin tries to turn to an angel of light beings though people forget he is the cause of everything wrong with the world. a lot of the things people think that are good really is bad and that’s Satin making them think those things(gay marriage, gambling, alcohol abuse, pre-marrital sex…etc). crime is not the only way he causes folks.

Actually, just to clarify some things to all those saying Jesus didn’t exist, there are actually historical confirmations of Jesus existing in Roman and Hebrew literature. The point that is up for discussion are the “miracles” he performed, as well as the way he was conceived because from the point of view of the Hebrews, Jesus was just a transgressor, who had different views and tried to deviate from the path of Judaism (he was born Jewish).
As for his race, it is clearly documented he was born in Bethlehem which is still a city in existence today located in the West Bank in Israel. Therefore he was most likely a middle-eastern olive tone Caucasian similar to modern day Arabs and Israelis living in the Middle East. So he wasn’t African since the Middle East is in Asia, and he probably wasn’t black since at the time, all black people lived in Africa.

@killacam, lol there is no historical proof confirmation jesus existed…everything about his existence is derived from hearsay. If there was proof it would have been on every news outlet. just theories and conjecture, nothing more.

@tammy , u are right jesus was of an OLIVE COMPLEXETION BUT THERE ARE ONLY TWO TYPES OF OLIVES BLACK OR GREEN SO WHICH COLOR WAS HE?
[Reply]
November 27th, 2012 at 10:26 pm
It is not a proven fact that Jesus was olive-toned. This is because so=-called Israelis, and in fact most of the people in the Middle East, do not have a homogeneous complexion. Their complexion ranges from white to Black. In Israel today you have Ashkenazi Jews (White European looking) and Falasha Jews (Black African) which are both descendants of the Hebrews who lived in the times of Jesus.
