« New Music: Dido f/ Kendrick Lamar – ‘Let Us Move On’Celebrities React to Connecticut School Shooting »Tamar Braxton Sets February Release for Album![]() Tamar Braxton topped the iTunes charts with her single “Love and War,” and now the “Braxton Family Values” star has set a release date for her album.
During a visit to Power 99’s “Rise & Grind Morning Show,” Tamar’s husband and manager Vince Herbert announced that his wife’s album Love and War will drop on February 12 via Streamline Records. The soulful single shot past Rihanna, Britney Spears, and Taylor Swift on the iTunes chart within a day of its release. Love and War marks the follow-up to the 35-year-old singer’s 2000 debut Tamar, which was released through Dreamworks/RedZone. The star of WE tv’s “Tamar and Vince” performed the single on “The Wendy Williams Show” earlier this week. You can leave a response, or trackback from your own site. 30 CommentsLeave a Reply

@Diego, Please don’t act like Keyshia is some flop bitch cause she’s not. She has 4 platinum albums and one gold. Tamar has none.

@Diego, Bitch don’t give me too much. It obviously DOES matter what I think seeing as though you took the time to reply. Tamar’s lil success is cute, but all good things must come to an end. Ain’t nobody gone be checkin fa ha in February anyway with Beyonce all in yo livin room fa the Super Bowl and in yo refrigerator on yo Pepsi cans! She can hang that sh!t up!

I’m def gonna support Tamar!! She’s really the only female artist in the game thats bringing something fresh to the table. W/ half the industry sounding the same, its refreshing to have an artist come and basically change the game! She’s gonna be one to look out for in 2013!!! I hope Vince markets her as Tina Turner of this generation because I see her performing in stadiums – she has the personality, drive and music to do groundbreaking things! I’m rooting for her and hope she reaches her full potential!!!

@NovaLidole, Ya say that when Brandy releases, Keyshia COle releases, Ashanti releases, Beyonce releases etc etc. It’s beginning to sound repetitive. Just say its great to say another talented singer doing her thing. Remember money is there for everyone to get; you just got to do your part.

@AllAmerykhanBoy,
Excuse me, my opinion stands. Those singers you just named don’t have a personality, drive etc that Tamar has and its evident. So why argue or belittle my comment – because you don’t agree. Seriously, how old are you? I’m simply stating my opinion which I feel will become a fact because Tamar has Vincent Herbert as her manager and he can & will make her a worldwide superstar. Best believe that. So please stop being ignorant and just support music. I’m clearly not a fan of those women you stated because their music all sounds the same, you can’t even distinguish one from the other! Tamar is going to bring something fresh to the game and that is what Tina Turner did back in 80s. I believe Tamar is the next Tina!

@Novalidole, I respect your opinion but all those singers have drive. Ashanti started her own label. Beyonce is doing a lot with the Superbowl and Pepsi. Keyshia is still doing her thing. Brandy has to have drive to get back where she is now. Don’t say that they all sound the same when Tamar’s song sounds like Trust and Believe me. Also if you listen to most of their albums there is change on all of them. Bringing age into it doesn’t mean anything and your basically doing the same thing as the guy your talking about.

@AllAmerykhanBoy, You know, don’t tell someone what to say. It’s not up to you to decide how someone else feels and how they express it. If you don’t agree, that’s fine, but don’t think you have the right to tell someone what they should and should not say.

@NovaLidole, please stop just stop. I don’t like overnight stans making such ridiculous statements like Tamar is the only female bringing something fresh to the game. You sound like a moron. There are plenty other innovative artist that are far better than Tamar. Dawn Richard mops the floor with one of Tamar’s many wigs when it comes down lyrically, creatively, and musically.

@Beyness, Dawn Richards could never ever in this world sing better than Tamar. It doesn’t matter how lyrically challenged she is and musically she hold not a ounce of what Tamar can do!!!

@Hank, Well, actually it’s her husband who’s “filthy stinking rich,” not Tamar herself. And besides, is that how you make decisions about music and whose album to buy? Cuz I got news for you, they’re all filthy, stinking rich, most especially Beyonce. If I don’t want to contribute to their wealth, I refuse to buy their perfumes or their clothing line or whatever else they’re hawking just because they can. I buy music based on what I like, but hey, that’s just me. smh

@Beyness, Funny thing is if she flops I guarantee you they will disappear back into those swamps and sh#t and will never be heard from again lol I wish her success but I really don’t like bandwagon riders. I personally don’t think she should release her album in FEB. Sorry but we all know bey is coming hard with that superbowl and her promo and if she actually gets a banging single? It’s a wrap for everyone trying to make a come up. HOWEVER I do believe there is room for everyone I just don’t think the public thinks like that. They tend to focus on just one person. I hope she does well though.

Her album should be cute but nothing to really feel threatened and start comparing people to. She’s been around all these years and is just now putting out music? Shes 38…not like shes about to start going on world tours singing and dancing like Beyonce. So, i’ll give her her dues…she can sing but thats about it.

I love that song, but can’t stand her as a person. She’s messy.
So I’m conflicted. Support good music (assumption based on one song), but support a lame person… or don’t support a lame person or good music.

The only reason her song did so good was because Lady Gaga tweeted begging all her little monsters to buy it, and I’m sure you all know how much little monsters will do for their mother… just saying, anyways, the albums dropping the same day as Broke with Expensive Taste, soo it’s gonna be interesting seeing 2 new faces debut the same day

@Nick, You can preview songs on iTunes before you buy them, you know. Even if Gaga encouraged her fans to buy it, I’m quite sure that most of them previewed it and decided for themselves if they wanted it. Do YOU obey whatever someone tells you to do? Cuz I sure don’t, even for my favorite singer or whatever. Either way, it’s a damn good song and Tamar has some chops. Don’t hate on her just because she’s good at marketing her song.
