Rap-Up.com || Behind the Video: Dawn Richard

Dawn Richard leaps into action in the short film for “86,” the first single off her full-length debut Goldenheart. The warrior princess shows off her moves as she fights her enemies and pays homage to her past including Danity Kane, her childhood, and native New Orleans in the inspirational visuals, directed by Eugene Lee Yang (“Wild N’ Faith”).

“We’re using all the things in my past that people may view as negative as a catalyst to be inspiring—to fight for something,” explains Dawn.

The video will premiere Tuesday, the same day Goldenheart arrives in stores and online. Go behind the scenes of “86” below.

@2bad2bme, It won’t leak bc she’s independent. Only abount 5 people have grabs on it! Lol if you haven’t noticed, none of her music has ever leaked but everyone else on a label, has.

@KeepingItFunky, There is actually a chance that it could leak if someone at one of the stores the album is being sold in decides to rip it to their computer. But I doubt that will happen

Dawn treats herself and her project like she would expect a major label to treat Adele, Gaga, Beyonce, One Direction and Taylor Swift. Independent is the new Major Label and Dawn Richard is leading the way….get like her.

She just need someone like Ryan Secrest to get one of her catchier tracks and play it non stop on the radio. She just needs a crack in that mainstream door and she will ruin it for every label fucking around with garbage acts and garbage music.
