@justme, I wouldn’t say “new” because it has the indie neo soul vibe to it , reminds me a lot of Solange’s work from her True EP.

    I am not surprised!

    King Reply:

@Jojosoul, We’re bad huh? Aren’t we? You just sound hasbeen to me thought. I listen to EVERYTHING. Old and new. Autotuned and not autotuned. If music gives me good emotions I don’t give a fuck if it’s autotuned or not, I just care about music giving me good emotions. And everyone should feel the same. You’re pathetic to me if you decide not to listen to something you might like just only cuz you don’t like how it has been recorded. SMDH. If the music is good to your ears just shut the fuck up and listen. Why the hell are you in here listening to her shit and hating on her btw if you you dislike her so much lol?

@King, Good point. Even as a fan of music I deem to be “good music,” I like all genres of music from all over the world, though I like some more than others. I can find something from each genre to enjoy, so long as I can connect with it in some way. Sometimes it’s just the music itself rather than the words, but sometimes it’s the visuals. I’m going to buy this album BECAUSE of the visuals, b/c when I hear music, I see it in pictures. So it’ll be interesting seeing how she visualized the songs.

She was so smart. Took Ciara’s idea and made it so much better. And She and Rihanna always have amazing visual videos even if the songs are hot or not. And that Rocket song is like a Dángleo throwback, classic! I love the fact that she let go all her fear although she still is a profectionist. I may not respect you as a commercialized person, but you are an artist that invents herself.

    [Reply]

    Oh Reply:

@Wowow, I though the same things. Beyoncé took Ciara’s idea but did it even better. This album sounds dope Partition is going to be a hit and the Drake feature

I’m trying to figure out where the sound of the album comes from … and I just can’t ITS SO NEW and CLASSIC. All the albums I’ve heard this year except Justin’s sounds trash now. Don’t even talk me about Rihannas albums (except Good Girl Gone Bad & Rated R) … Jermaine Dupri never grab Beyoncé down again

I see Bey went a more contemporary route this time around. I think its pretty evident that Bey cannot be messed with vocally (in comparison to her pop peers) – its crazy because a friend and I were JUST sitting and talking about her. She’s been entirely too quiet (although on tour) about new material, . I wake up to twitter in a complete frenzy!

From what I can hear it sounds like a revist to B-Day era with slight Sasha Fierce accents. Its most definitely a step futher from 4, especially due to the versatile topics being sung about this go round. Not just typical love and sex songs. I have a feeling she worked diligently and thoroughly on this project to 1) Please critics. — 2) Show she not only dominates Pop, but RnB (her root genre) — 3) Win a ton of Grammys so she could take a LONG break from the industry PERIOD to focus on her family

She knew EXACTLY what she was doing by letting her pop peers land their planes, so that she could fly in, to a clear runway, with no competition, and all eyes on her. I have a feeling 2014 will be a monumental year for Bey.

so I like the new CD but I really here no hits…so I guess in a since it was clever of her to just put more shock value on releasing it with a surprise and tons of videos… I guess that would hold the fans over. Sounds like an upgrade to 4..

I didnt like 4 as much but respect her craft. Overall I am still alittle upset that Azealia banks track didnt make the cut but I totally understand. I wonder what it sounds like….. congrats B

    [Reply]

    Satisfied Reply:

@clothesandremarcs, Thinking back to the documentary, I think that was the goal – to not have any “hits” but put together an actual album. I can’t imagine a lot of these songs being played on the radio but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the product.

Man, this girl put an effort into this project. From the Back 2 Business (Revel) shows to now, the growth is real!

    [Reply]

    clothesandremarcs Reply:

@Satisfied, i didnt see the documentary. im listening more and more and it does sound like a different Beyonce. Like a “grown woman” lol. sounds hot.

    relvry Reply:

@clothesandremarcs, there are several hits on this record…. several

    [Reply]

    clothesandremarcs Reply:

@relvry, im still disagreeing with that….defintely some great background songs for tv shows and a yogurt commercial but yeah no hits just endorsement music…like 20/20 experience. you cant tell me two songs on the second experience couldnt go well with a new true blood season lol
