Album Cover: August Alsina – ‘Testimony’

Following the release of his 2013 EP Downtown: Life Under the Gun, August Alsina is gearing up for his full-length debut Testimony. The New Orleans newcomer shares his tale of survival with the powerful cover art, which shows him praying in a church.

The album, dedicated to his late brother Melvin, features Yo Gotti and the Jeezy-assisted single “Make It Home,” with production from Eric Hudson, Drumma Boy, Jasper Cameron, and The Exclusives.

“My soul lies within this shit! My story, my background, my culture, my heart & lifestyle lies within this shit,” said August. “My strongpoints and weaknesses, my highs & my downfalls, I give you my all.. Im telling my deepest secrets, i hope you promise to keep it. 4•15•14 This one is for the REAL one’s ! The ones that’s stuck in the struggle.”

You can currently catch August opening for 2 Chainz on his “2 G.O.O.D. 2 Be T.R.U.” tour.

Don’t like the cover He’s a Ratchet R&B Artist ugggghhhh I hope he finds his own lane instead of being trey or chris

    REALLY? Reply:

@booty, own line? ratchet R and B is his lane! why are people like you comparing him to trey and chris all 3 have completely different styles. trey makes pop music with a hint of r and b. chris makes dance songs with a hint of hip hop. and august (as of right now)is making R AND B music about stuggles but does have his rachet hip hop songs. just cause they are all light skin (expect trey) doesn’t mean they should be compared because you really can’t
