Video: Pia Mia – ‘Mr. President’

Pia Mia

Pia Mia is making all the right moves. After signing to Interscope Records earlier this year, the 17-year-old sensation rolls out the viral video for “Mr. President,” one of the six tracks off her EP The Gift.

The Guam native rocks her signature bandana and grill, and shows off some killer choreography in a grungy warehouse. The clip, which was shot in downtown L.A. last month, segues into “I Got It,” a song off her debut mixtape.

“This video was inspired by a photo that we saw of a girl laying across an old car,” she told Rap-Up TV. “I thought it would be dope to make the video a cool, underground party.”

Pia Mia is currently working on her Interscope Records debut. “It’s gonna be rhythmic pop,” she said. “I really like to do that because I’m able to lean more towards the urban side, I’m able to do more pop, and I’m able to do ballads also, so I’m kinda able to touch everywhere.”

This girl is a female Justin Bieber. I don’t see anything thing different about her. The influence of Cassie, Rihanna and even Aaliyah is too much.
If she’s a serious musician, she should work on creating a more original lane. Instead of being overwhelmed by her idols, she should learn from them. Also, the kid is only 17. Why is she pushing sex so early on. No one is gonna take her seriously as an artist if she continues to just be about the fashion and the face.
    Wishing her well.

The song is really irritating. Could barely make it half way. And what’s with the grill?

@troof, White to me is a color…the color of her skin is white…..so she too is considered white….regardless of her race/nationality ! (My opinion of things)

@High_Price, she isn’t actually white, lighting is a biggie. She’s from guam, she’s an island girl. Don’t let her blonde hair fool you, its naturally brown and she’s naturally dark. Also, she’s got blue contacts.

@High_Price, it’s true, she’s not white. People from Guam are referred to as Chamorros having been influenced by the Spanish and the Japanese, so mixed blood basically. But not white. Don’t let it fool you, do your research.

Not that her race matters, of course.

But no, she’s not white…. She’s from the island Guam, and half her family are pacific ocean island natives.
