Lauryn Hill Announces 'MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling!' Tour

  /  08.03.2016

Ms. Lauryn Hill is taking the show on the road.

The hip-hop icon, in association with Live Nation and TIDAL, has announced dates for her next tour, “MLH Caravan: A Diaspora Calling! Concert Series.”

Kicking off Aug. 27 in Philadelphia, the 16-date trek is set to run through November with dates in Chicago, Toronto, and Boston in between.

“The MLH Caravan allows me to continue the theme of unity and celebration of the many facets of cultural and artistic beauty throughout the African diaspora while on tour this summer and fall,” said Ms. Hill. “In these days of tension, tumult and transition, an exchange of this kind can yield direction, expression, understanding and empowerment as well as connection, self Love and appreciation that hopefully overflows into our respective communities.”

Special guests will be announced at a later date.

Starting tomorrow, TIDAL members will be able to purchase pre-sale tickets at 10 a.m.

The announcement comes after Hill has been criticized extensively for live performances. In recent years, the Miseducation singer/rapper has been late to a series of shows. The most recent incident took place in May when she arrived two hours late, claiming her driver got lost.

The tour also arrives just as Austin City Limits posts the web exclusive of Lauryn’s “Mystery of Inequity” performance. The Unplugged 2.0 song is most known for being sampled by Kanye West on College Dropout’s “All Falls Down.”
