Run the Jewels & Trina Perform on 'Kimmel'

  /  07.21.2017

More than half a year after releasing Run the Jewels 3, Killer Mike and El-P teamed up for a pair of in-your-face performances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live.”

The first of those performances came with a little help from Da Baddest Bitch. First, Mike and Jaime set up “Panther Like a Panther” as a duet, before Trina strutted on stage in a revealing outfit and platform shoes. “Say it’s a hit bitch,” the trio rapped together.

For their second performance, El-P said that the duo would dedicate “Down” to Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington, whose death shocked and saddened the music world on Thursday (July 20). Along with Joi and the DJ, the quartet performed in all black for the stirring tribute.

“My, my, y’all,” sang Joi. “I coulda died, y’all / A couple times, I took my eyes off the prize, y’all / I know a few people pray for my demise, y’all / But like cream, I had to rise, I had to rise, y’all.”

“Panther Like a Panther” and “Down” are singles off RTJ’s 2016 album, Run the Jewels 3, which arrived in December. Now, Mike and El are reportedly working on their fourth studio album as a duo.
